How Can We Find Habitable Exoplanets?
How does Chronic Traumatic Encephalopathy, more commonly known as CTE, affect the brain? I first aimed to understand what CTE really was, then I was determined to figure out how CTE is so devastating. Lastly, I set out to understand how CTE affects the brain. CTE is caused by many small, to moderate, hits to the heads throughout athletic careers. CTE destroys approximately 30% of the human brain and is caused by a buildup of the protein, Tau. CTE also destroys the blood vessels that surround the cortex and puts the brain at risk for more advanced diseases.
According to a study, CTE is found in 99% of professional football player's brains. CTE has even been found in football players who have only played for 55 games. This research paper intends to find out what CTE does to the brain, and why it is so dangerous. Recently, we have seen an uptick in the number of rash movements, and actions that people, who have played sports that involve hits to the head, have been doing.
